Campsites near the Isle of Wight Classic Motor Show
The Isle of Wight Classic Motor Show is planned for Saturday 11 September 2027 at The Quay in Newport, PO30 2QR, and Sunday 12 September 2027 on Ryde Esplanade and North Walk, PO33 1JA, from 10am to 4pm each day. The organisers call the 2027 dates provisional. Entry is free for spectators.
It is the Island's biggest classic vehicle show, with room for up to 500 cars, motorbikes, lorries, military and emergency vehicles. It has run since 2001, first as the Isle of Wight Classic Car Extravaganza, and 2026 was its 25th show. Because it moves from Newport to Ryde overnight, this page is centred on Newport, where the campsites are within a short drive or bus ride of both venues.

Exhibiting your vehicle
Owners buy one weekend ticket per vehicle, which covers both days. The organisers list it at £9 plus a £1 booking fee for the current show, sold online through Ticket Tailor. Tickets are non-refundable unless the show is cancelled, and spaces are limited, so book early.
If you are bringing a classic over on a trailer or towing a caravan, a site with hardstanding and space to turn is worth more than a pretty view. Springfield Oaks on Staplers Road takes caravans and motorhomes all year with serviced pitches, about 2 km from the Quay.
Ferries
Wightlink is the show's official travel partner. For the 2026 show it gave 20% off crossings for travel between 11 and 14 September 2026, booked through the link on the show's website, and a similar offer is likely for 2027. Wightlink runs Portsmouth to Fishbourne and Lymington to Yarmouth for cars, and the FastCat from Portsmouth lands on Ryde Pier, right by Sunday's show. See campsites near the Fishbourne ferry and the Ryde ferry.
Getting between Newport and Ryde
Southern Vectis route 9 links Newport bus station with Ryde Transport Interchange on the Esplanade, via Wootton and Binstead, in about 20 to 30 minutes. It runs about every 10 minutes in the daytime on weekdays. Newport Quay is a few minutes' walk from the bus station, and on Sunday the Ryde show is on the seafront right by the interchange, so you can see both days without driving.
By car, Newport to Ryde is about 12 km along the A3054.
Making a weekend of it
The Randonnée round-the-Island bike ride is on Sunday 5 September 2027, the weekend before, so cyclists can make a week of it. Mid-September is after the school holidays, so there is more choice of pitches than in August. For more choice near Sunday's venue, see campsites in Ryde.
