Campsites near the Isle of Wight Proms at Northwood House, Cowes
There are two proms on the Island, and they are easy to mix up. The Wight Proms Festival is a week of open-air shows on the lawns of Northwood House, Ward Avenue, Cowes PO31 8AZ, held every summer since 2018 and founded by Mike Christie, a Cowes resident and member of the vocal group G4. It mixes classical proms with comedy, musicals, opera, drag, country and children's workshops, and ends with a flag-waving Last Night on a Sunday.
The festival is coming back in 2027, but the dates had not been announced when we checked. It ran 9 to 18 August in 2024 and 12 to 17 August in 2025, the week after Cowes Week. In 2026 it moved to 31 July to 9 August to join Cowes Week's 200th anniversary. Cowes Week 2027 is 31 July to 6 August, so expect the festival in mid-August.
The other is the Classic Isle Proms at Robin Hill, near Newport, each July. It is covered further down this page.

Tickets are sold only on the Wight Proms website, and you can buy on the door if a show has not sold out. Most are lawn tickets: bring a blanket or a folding chair. Chairs go in a set area, and gazebos and tables are not allowed. VIP Lounge tickets get covered seats at tables of four or eight, with drinks included.
You can bring your own food but not your own alcohol, because of the venue's licence; bar takings go to the charity that looks after Northwood House. BBQs and camping stoves are banned, and only registered guide dogs are allowed, so dog owners need a plan for the evening. Shows go ahead in the rain. In 2026 the evening shows opened their gates at 6pm and ran 7.30pm to 9.30pm, and the Last Night concert started at 4.15pm.
