Brighstone Holiday Centre
Old-school 1930s clifftop holiday centre on the Military Road with big camping fields, chalets and the coast path at the bottom of the site.
- Dogs welcome
- Near beach
Brighstone Holiday Centre dates from 1932 and keeps much of its period character: rows of self-catering chalets and a block of simple bed-and-breakfast rooms set on around ten acres of clifftop above Brighstone Bay, with roughly five more acres for large family tents and club rallies. The coastal path runs along the bottom of the site, giving quick access to miles of beach, fossil-rich ledges and the surf at Compton.
Campers can bring tents, caravans and motorhomes, with electric hook-ups, drinking-water points, an Elsan point and bins for general waste, recycling, glass and hot ash. The site has been described by its operators as voluntary-run, welcomes well-behaved children and dogs, and hosts school and field-study groups in the B&B rooms. Mountain bikes and surfboards can be locked away overnight on request.
- Coastal path and beach access at the foot of the site
- Plenty of room for big family tents and club rallies
- Period 1930s holiday camp atmosphere
- Dark West Wight skies and sunsets
- Secure overnight storage for bikes and surfboards
