Forelands is a seasonal pop-up campsite that runs through the summer holidays on the field of Sally's Riding School at the end of Forelands Field Road in Bembridge. It is about as close to the east-coast shore as island camping gets: the beach, a seafood cafe and the Crab and Lobster Inn are all a minute or so on foot.
It is deliberately basic. There are portaloos but no showers and no hook-ups, though phones and power banks can be charged at the site office. A food trailer serves breakfasts and evening meals on site, festoon lights go up around the field after dark, and dogs are welcome on leads. Every unit (tent, campervan or motorhome) is charged as its own pitch at a flat nightly rate.
