Campsites near Fishbourne ferry terminal (Portsmouth car ferry), Isle of Wight
Wightlink's Portsmouth to Fishbourne car ferry takes about 45 minutes and lands at the mouth of Wootton Creek. It has sailings late at night and in the early hours, which the Lymington route does not, so it suits late arrivals. Two campsites are within a half-hour walk of the ramp: Kite Hill Farm, about 2 km away at Wootton Bridge, and The Woodland Retreat, about 12 minutes up the lane.
Drivers are close to most of the island's middle. Wootton Bridge is a few minutes away, Newport and Ryde a short drive, and the glamping and pop-up fields around Wootton and Havenstreet are all within 5 km.
