Touring caravan sites near Cowes Week, Isle of Wight

Of the 9 campsites within 3.5 miles of Cowes Week, 4 take touring caravans.

Towing into Cowes during the regatta is not a plan. In 2026 the Parade was closed to vehicles from 10am to 6am each day and the High Street shut every evening, and the Floating Bridge chain ferry does not take caravans at any time. Pitch up, unhitch and leave the caravan on site for the week.

Which bank of the Medina you choose matters. From the Red Funnel ramp at East Cowes, Waverley Park is up Old Road without crossing the river, and from there you can walk to the East Cowes Esplanade or take the Floating Bridge to the Parade. During Cowes Week 2026 the Floating Bridge ran until 01:25, later than usual, which covers the walk back after the fireworks. Last Post CS on Fairlee Road is also east of the river. Comforts Farm and Thorness Bay are on the west side, so you tow round through Newport.

Once parked, Comforts Farm is about half a mile from the main bus route into Cowes. Thorness Bay has no bus to the gate: the nearest stop is about 1.7 miles along a lane with no pavement, so you will want the car or bikes.
