Campsites near Cowes Week where you can have a campfire, Isle of Wight

Of the 9 campsites within 3.5 miles of Cowes Week, 3 allow campfires in some form.

Keep the fire for the campsite. Prince's Green and the Parade, where the crowds watch the racing and the final Friday fireworks, are council open spaces, and the Isle of Wight Council asks people not to use disposable barbecues on beaches and green spaces. It consulted on banning them on council land, beaches included, over the winter of 2025 to 2026, and in July 2026 councillors asked for a further report before deciding.

Three sites near Cowes take fires, each with its own rule. The Hydeaway lets you have a fire on your pitch, hires out fire pit kits and sells fuel, which is the only fuel you may burn. It stops fires in dry, windy or hot weather, and early August can be all three. Comforts Farm allows fires only in a fireproof container at least 300mm off the ground, an insurance rule, so bring a raised fire bowl. At The Ark Park the only fires are the pits that come with each ark.

Mind the quiet hours on fireworks night. In 2026 the display was due to start at about 9.30pm, and Comforts Farm asks for no unnecessary noise after 10pm, so a late fire there should be a quiet one.
