Taking a motorhome into Ventnor for the Fringe takes planning. The approach roads drop steeply off the downs, and Zig Zag Road lives up to its name. The council's motorhome parking list points to two car parks. One is the grassed overflow at La Falaise on Bath Road, about 300m from Ventnor Park, listed at £12.50 for 24 hours or the maximum stay. The other is the coach bays at Dudley Road, at £26. Neither has a height barrier, but sleeping and cooking in vehicles is not allowed in council car parks.
Better to park up at a site and take the bus. Downsview CL has a motorhome service point and serviced hardstandings. Appuldurcombe Gardens at Wroxall has hardstandings and route 3 buses. Ninham has large motorhome pitches for vans over 6.5m. New Bank End Farm is the closest, but it has no hook-up or toilets.
