No pitch near Ventnor lets you light a fire on the grass. What you get instead are fire pits, all of them at glamping sites, so a fire after a Fringe show means booking a hut, yurt or safari tent rather than a pitch.
On the Undercliff, Far Out Retreat has fire pits at its shepherd's huts and at the Citrine caravan on its cliff-edge plot above Binnel Bay, and Puckaster Cove's yurts at Niton have them too. Inland, Kingates Farm gives its hut a fire pit and supplies logs for the woodburner. Sibbecks Farm puts a pit by each safari tent, includes the first basket of wood, and sells more in its honesty shop.
The touring parks are stricter. Appuldurcombe Gardens, Ninham and Lower Hyde do not allow campfires, though Appuldurcombe and Ninham allow raised barbecues. Do not plan a beach fire either: the council has asked people not to use disposable barbecues on beaches. See our campfires and BBQs guide.
