The Fringe can be done on very little. The Fringe Village in Ventnor Park is free to enter, with buskers, street theatre and workshops, and the 2026 festival had over 100 free events alongside more than 130 ticketed shows. In 2026 it also sold early £1 tickets with a discount code, so sign up for news in spring.
Travel is cheap too. Single bus fares were capped at £3 when we checked, and the Fringe's travel page says Ventnor's buses run until around midnight on weekdays and about 3am at weekends. Wightlink gives Fringe-goers 20% off.
For pitches, New Bank End Farm charges £15 a night for a pitch and up to four people in 2026, walkable to Ventnor Park. But it has no toilets or showers, so tents are only allowed if you bring your own. Ninham's hike pitches, for people arriving on foot or by bike, were from £6.50 a night in 2026.
