ViewOf the 12 campsites within 2.2 miles of the Island Steam Fair, 3 are the budget choices, from about £25 a night or less for two.
The fair is better value than it first looks. In 2026 a full adult ticket with unlimited steam train rides was £26 online and covered up to three children aged 5 to 17, and under-5s went free. Show tickets were valid on every day of the show, so one ticket could cover a return visit. The show-only ticket was £20 online.
Parking at Havenstreet is free. Without a car, take the route 9 bus to Wootton station, which runs every 20 minutes from Monday to Saturday, then ride the steam train in.
For the pitch, Wild Oak Farm was from £18 a night on Pitchup in 2026, with two cars and up to three dogs included, and it is walkable to the fair. Kite Hill Farm charges by the person, £11 per adult and £6 per child aged 5 to 15 in 2026, with no extra for dogs, cars or awnings. See our cheap camping guide.
