Touring caravan sites near the Island Steam Fair, Isle of Wight

Of the 12 campsites within 2.2 miles of the Island Steam Fair, 5 take touring caravans.

Towing to the fair is simple. Havenstreet station has a large free car park with room for motorhomes and coaches, and an overflow field opens on busy event days, so you can leave the caravan on site and drive the car in.

Book early. The steam fair shares the August bank holiday weekend with the International Scooter Rally in Sandown, so ferries and pitches fill up. Kite Hill Farm is the biggest touring site nearby, with unmarked fields and 16A hook-up for £5 a night in 2026. It is about 3.2 km from the station, around 45 minutes on foot along Firestone Copse paths. Retro Staycations counts bank holiday weekends as high season, when an electric pitch with water was £28 for two in 2026.

Two sites need a word of warning. Valerian Sun Club is a naturist club, so contact it before you go. Springfield Oaks has no toilets or showers. Our touring caravan guide covers ferry sizes.
