Of the 14 campsites within 1.5 miles of the Isle of Wight Scooter Rally, 11 take touring caravans.
VFM does not publish any caravan rules for the rally camp at Sandown Airport, and the airport field is set up for tents and vans, so if you are towing, book a touring pitch. You will have plenty of choice: there are eleven touring sites within about 1.5 miles of the gate on Scotchells Brook Lane, and the Old Barn is about 10 minutes' walk away.
Book the ferry early. The bank holiday Friday and Monday are the busiest crossings, and Wightlink's 2026 rally offer (20% off for travel from 27 August to 1 September) covered foot passengers, cars and motorcycles only, so a car and caravan paid the full fare. Expect the roads around Sandown, Shanklin and Apse Heath to be slow on the Sunday afternoon while the ride-out passes. Southland at Newchurch is the only site here with a motorhome service point, and Caravan and Motorhome Club members saved £15 a night there in 2026. See our touring caravan guide for ferries and roads.
