Of the 11 campsites within 2.8 miles of the Isle of Wight Challenge, 4 take motorhomes or campervans.
A van is a good way to do the challenge, because you can sleep at the start. In 2027 Ultra Challenge sells campervan pitches at Chale basecamp for vehicles under about 5 to 6 metres at £25 a night, and motorhome pitches for vehicles over 6m at £35, with parking included. It does not mention hook-up, so come self-contained. The same pitches are sold at the Cowes Showground, the halfway point.
If you want electric and a tap, there are three sites with hook-up nearby. Downsview CL above Niton has five serviced hardstandings, opens in mid-April, and takes 2027 bookings from 2 November 2026. Camp Corve has two motorhome pitches with optional hook-up. Book the ferry early: participants get a Red Funnel discount on the Southampton to East Cowes car ferry, and the organisers ask you to pre-book. Our motorhome guide covers ferry lengths and roads.
