Dog friendly campsites near the Isle of Wight Garlic Festival, Isle of Wight

Of the 11 campsites within 1.7 miles of the Isle of Wight Garlic Festival, 7 take dogs.

The Garlic Festival is relaxed about dogs, as long as they stay on a lead the whole time. August is the harder part. Bring water and shade for a hot day in the fields. Remember the beach rules too: from 1 May to 30 September dogs are banned from marked zones of Sandown, Shanklin and Yaverland beaches, though you can walk them all year on the beach east of the Yaverland car park.

Inland, there is plenty of room. National Trust Borthwood Copse is next to Borthwood Caravans, the Alverstone Mead reserve is close, and the Red Squirrel Trail runs on old railway line towards Sandown and Newport. Two of these sites take dogs in their glamping, and Borthwood's dogs stay free. Our camping with dogs guide has more beach detail.
