Family campsites near the Royal Isle of Wight County Show, Isle of Wight

Of the 11 campsites within 2.3 miles of the Royal Isle of Wight County Show, 8 are good for families.

The show is aimed squarely at families. The 2026 programme had vintage fairground rides, a rodeo bull, the Show Farm where children can meet pigs, goats and calves and watch cows being milked, a chance to walk an alpaca or herd a pig, and a Shetland pony Grand National. Under-16s went free with a paying adult in 2026. You can bring a picnic to the Village Green or the Woodland, and the field can be muddy after rain, so take boots and a sturdy pushchair.

The nearest family sites are small and simple, with farm animals rather than pools. None of them has a pool: Gurnard Pines, about 1.7 miles away, lost its pool in 2023. For a beach, Gurnard's seafront is a short drive west of Cowes. Our camping with kids guide covers rainy-day options.
