Dog friendly campsites near the Royal Isle of Wight County Show, Isle of Wight

Of the 11 campsites within 2.3 miles of the Royal Isle of Wight County Show, 7 take dogs.

The County Show is a good day out with a dog. Dogs are welcome on a lead around the showground, though not in the food areas. In 2026 there was a fun dog show with classes such as best rescue dog, waggiest tail and dog most like its owner. You register on the day by 12pm, judging starts at 1.30pm, and it costs £2 a class.

For walks before or after, mind the beach rules. Cowes and Gurnard both have dog exclusion zones on parts of their beaches from 1 May to 30 September, which covers show weekend. Thorness Bay is not on the council's list, and Pigsty Farm has a traffic-free path to it, about 45 minutes on foot. Several sites here restrict breeds, so check before you book.
