Yarmouth is the nearest port for most West Wight caravan sites, and the Lymington crossing takes about 40 minutes. Wightlink measures the whole outfit, tow bar and bike rack included, and charges the caravan on top of the car fare. A towed caravan cannot be booked online on its own, Priority Boarding is not sold to vehicles with trailers, and vehicles check in 60 to 30 minutes before sailing.
Which way you turn at the ramp sets the drive. West, over the Yar swing bridge, are Heathfield Farm, Stoats Farm and The Bungalow CL; Island Roads opens the bridge for boats at fixed times through the summer, about ten minutes at a time, so a queue is possible. East along the A3054 are Lucketts Farm at Bouldnor, Camp Wight at Ningwood and Eddie's Farm at Shalfleet.
