The Needles costs less than people expect. Entry to the Landmark Attraction at Alum Bay is free, and so is the New Battery beside the National Trust's Old Battery. The Alum Bay car park is free from November to March; in 2026 it charged £7.00 a day from 2 April to 30 October.
The cheapest way in is on foot. From Stoats Farm the walk along Tennyson Down takes about an hour each way and costs nothing. By bus, a 24 hour Rover cost £11.40 for an adult in 2026 and covers route 7 to Alum Bay. The Rover with Breezers was £15.50, against £8.00 for an adult Breezer return from Alum Bay up to the Battery.
Two of the three places listed here will not suit most people. The Freshwater Camp Equipment Trust lets its whole camp to one group for a week, and The Bungalow CL is for Caravan and Motorhome Club members, with no public price. See cheap camping.
