Freshwater Bay's council car park is the only place to stop at the beach. In 2026 it charged from £2.05 for an hour up to £12.50 for 6 to 10 hours, with £2.00 overnight from 6pm to 8am (PayByPhone 84021). East of the bay the Military Road is a clearway to Brook, so the verges along Afton Down are not an option.
On a site, the van can stay put. Stoats Farm has hardstanding and fully serviced pitches, with a footpath over Tennyson Down to the bay in about 40 minutes. Compton Farm, about 2 miles east, has no hook-up and 50p coin showers, so it suits self-contained vans, and the sand at Compton Bay is about a quarter of a mile from the field. The Bungalow CL, closest to the beach, has a drive-over waste point for Caravan and Motorhome Club members.
