Touring caravan sites near Freshwater Bay, Isle of Wight

Of the 9 campsites within 2.5 miles of Freshwater Bay, 4 take touring caravans.

The Military Road starts at Freshwater Bay, and that matters if you are towing to Compton Farm. East of the bay the A3055 is a clearway as far as Brook, so you can only stop in car parks, and it runs beside an eroding cliff on Afton Down. It was open in October 2026; work on safety barriers has slipped to January 2027, and a sign near Compton Farm can close the road after a landslide. Compton Farm's field is level and well drained but has no hook-ups.

Nearest the beach is The Bungalow CL on the golf course above the bay, five vans for Caravan and Motorhome Club members only; tents are not accepted. Stoats Farm and Heathfield Farm, on the Totland side, are both about 2 to 2.5km away. With the caravan pitched, the bay's council car park charged £3.60 for two hours in 2026, or use route 12 and the Breezer, which both stop at the bay.

Coming from Yarmouth, Wightlink charges the caravan on top of the car fare and it cannot be booked online on its own. See the touring caravan guide.
