Of the 14 campsites within 3.7 miles of the Red Jet terminal in Cowes, 4 allow campfires in some form.

Arriving on foot changes what fire you can have. Comforts Farm only allows fires in a fireproof container at least 300mm off the ground, which is a lot to carry off the Red Jet. The Hydeaway is easier: fires are allowed on the pitch, it hires out fire pit kits, and fuel has to be bought there anyway. It stops fires in dry, windy or hot weather, so pack a stove too.

If you would rather carry nothing, The Ark Park and Into the Woods come with their own fires: a pit by each ark, with firewood included in the couples' arks, and a firebowl on the deck at the Shepherd's Hideaway. None of the four is a short walk from Fountain Quay. The Hydeaway and The Ark Park are each more than an hour on foot, and Into the Woods is across the Medina near Wootton Bridge, so budget for a taxi.
