Towing to Compton means the Military Road. The A3055 runs along the cliff top here, and in 2025 the council named Brook Chine and Shippards Chine, the chine at Compton Farm, among its three worst erosion spots. A warning sign near Compton Farm can close the road automatically after a landslide. It was open in October 2026, but check for closures before you hitch up, and watch the wind on the exposed stretch.
Tourer pitches near the beach are few. Compton Farm is the only one within walking distance of the sand, and it has no hook-ups and no hardstanding. For electric, look to Freshwater. Heathfield Farm is very level, with 16 amp hook-up on 75 of its 81 pitches and the shortest tow from the Yarmouth ferry. Stoats Farm has hardstanding and fully serviced pitches, but limits the tow car parked on the pitch to 5.5m long and 2.2m high.
