Dog friendly campsites near Tapnell Farm Park, Isle of Wight

Of the 12 campsites within 2.6 miles of Tapnell Farm Park, 9 take dogs.

Dogs cannot go into Tapnell Farm Park, apart from assistance dogs, and the farm asks you not to leave them in the car or tied up outside. They are welcome at The Cow restaurant and in the spectator areas for football golf, frisbee golf and the Aqua Park, though the Aqua Park is closed for 2026. Football golf was £9 a person in 2026, so it is the paid activity the dog can come along to watch.

Staying on the farm solves the problem. Most glamping units take dogs, at £20 to £40 per dog per stay depending on the unit, agreed in advance, so the dog can stay behind while you are in the Farm Park. At Camp Tapnell dogs can be left in the unit for short periods if they are used to it, and are free to run in the surrounding fields. Containers 1 to 6 do not take dogs.

For a beach walk, Compton Bay is about 2.3km south. Dogs can use the sand between Hanover Point and Brook Chine all year, but not west of the Compton car park from 15 May to 15 September. Galloway cattle graze the downs. See camping with dogs.
