Tapnell has no touring pitches, so caravans stay nearby and the car comes in for the day. Parking at the Farm Park is free. From the Yarmouth ferry, the farm's directions go out on the A3054, right onto the B3401 and along Wilmingham Lane to the B3399 Middle Road, then left for just over 1.5 miles. Ignore the first turning signed Tapnell, which is for residents only.
For hook-up and hardstanding, The Orchards at Newbridge is the full-service choice. Every pitch has 10 amp electric, many have gravel or concrete hardstanding and some are fully serviced. Its paddocks are terraced and slope, so bring levelling ramps. Lucketts Farm at Bouldnor is a five-van members' site with hook-up on some grass pitches and the bus at the gate, handy for a first or last night by the ferry.
The rest are off grid. Camp Wight takes caravans in woodland clearings but has no hook-up, no chemical disposal and limited access in wet winter weather. Compton Farm and Mill Heights have no electric either.
