Colwell itself costs nothing, so the money goes on parking. The council car park charged £2.05 for an hour, £6.20 for four hours and £12.50 for 6 to 10 hours in 2026. Staying within walking distance takes that away: Heathfield Farm is 10 to 15 minutes on foot, and its 2026 rate for two on a pitch without electric was £28 a night in May and September for stays of three nights or more.
Over-60s did better still at Heathfield in 2026: a seven-night special for two adults on an electric pitch cost £190 from 9 to 20 May. Stoats Farm at Totland, about 40 minutes' walk along the sea wall, is the cheaper nightly rate in low season.
