Campsites near the East Cowes ferry terminal where you can have a campfire, Isle of Wight

Of the 11 campsites within 3.4 miles of the East Cowes ferry terminal, 4 allow campfires in some form.

Coming off the car ferry with a boot means you can bring your own raised fire bowl, which is what Comforts Farm needs: fires there must be in a fireproof container at least 300mm off the ground. Comforts Farm is on the Cowes side, a few minutes away by car on the Floating Bridge, though not if you are towing.

If you would rather not carry one, Into the Woods, on the same side of the river as the terminal, has a firebowl on the Shepherd's Hideaway deck and a shared barbecue area. The Ark Park has a fire pit by each ark and includes firewood in the couples' arks. The Hydeaway allows fires on the pitch but only with fuel bought on site, and it stops fires in dry, windy or hot weather.

Waverley Park, the only site you can walk to from the ramp, does not publish a fire policy, so ask before you pack a fire bowl. On the beach at East Cowes, the council asks people not to use disposable barbecues, and in 2026 it was still deciding whether to ban them on council land.
