Motorhome and campervan sites near Ryde Pier and the Ryde hovercraft, Isle of Wight

Of the 10 campsites within 3.4 miles of Ryde Pier and the Ryde hovercraft, 5 take motorhomes or campervans.

Motorhomes cannot use the Ryde crossings, so you will arrive through Fishbourne. If you want to drive into Ryde for the day, the council's motorhome parking list suggests the large bays behind LA Bowl at Quay Road car park. It showed £26 for 24 hours or the maximum stay, with no height barrier, when we checked in October 2026. You must not sleep or cook in the van in council car parks.

Whitefield Forest is the best-equipped site. It has serviced hardstandings with their own tap and grey drain, and motorhomes over 6m must use them. From there, routes 2 and 3 run to Ryde and Shanklin, so you can leave the van parked. Retro Staycations has 16A pitches with water on level grass, and it is the closest site to the town.

Kite Hill Farm suits a night before an early boat. Valerian Sun Club is a naturist club. See our motorhome guide.
