ViewOf the 11 campsites within 3.2 miles of Blackgang Chine, 6 take dogs.
Blackgang Chine is one of the few big attractions on the island that welcomes dogs. They must stay on a short lead for the whole visit, and bins are provided. The park warns that some evening events have loud noise and special lighting that may not suit dogs, which matters for the Fiesta of the Dead late nights in October.
For a walk, St Catherine's Down and the Pepperpot are National Trust land with livestock, so keep dogs on leads in the fields. Rocken End below Niton and Atherfield Bay west of Chale are on the council's 2026 list of beaches where dogs are welcome all year. The Buddle Inn at Niton, on the lighthouse circuit, is known for welcoming dogs.
Check each site's small print. Kingates Farm lets two adult dogs stay free in its shepherd's hut, with paddocks and a warm outdoor dog shower. Camp Corve allows one dog per pitch, and Downsview asks for dogs to be tethered on site. See camping with dogs.
