Camping for the Isle of Wight Festival
The festival campsites, the quieter alternatives nearby, prices that week and getting to Seaclose Park.
The festival takes place each June at Seaclose Park in Newport. The festival runs its own campsites, from general camping to pre-pitched tents and boutique areas. If you'd rather sleep somewhere quieter, there are ordinary campsites within a short taxi or bus ride, but they fill early and many charge more and set longer minimum stays that week.
Camping at the festival
Festival camping is booked with your ticket through the festival's official channels. Check the official site for what's included, car parking and campervan fields, which sell out.
Staying at a campsite instead
Newport is in the middle of the Island, so most of the Island's campsites are within about half an hour by road. The campsites near the festival page lists the closest, nearest first. Each campsite's price calculator knows the festival dates, so a quote for festival week includes any festival-week pricing and minimum stay the campsite publishes.
Book the ferry early. The festival is one of the busiest weeks on the ferries, with extra sailings and higher fares. Foot passengers can use the Red Jet to Cowes, which is close to Newport by bus.
With children
Families who want the festival without the festival campsite often pick a family campsite nearby and go in for the day.
